Support for ex-military personnel

01 April 2022

Customer and Local Services (CLS) has recently launched new support for former members of the Armed Forces.

The support has been put in place following the Council of Ministers signing of the Armed Forces Covenant – a commitment which was first created in 2014 to help the military community.

The support is designed to give ex-military personnel an easy way to access CLS services by providing additional support during the transition back to civilian life in Jersey

Eddie Clark, a Customer Insight Officer, and former Senior Aircraftman, has taken on the role of Senior Liaison Officer acting as a key contact for Armed Forces Support.

Welfare Chairman of the Royal British Legion Jersey, Keith Sunter, said: "We are delighted that Mr Clark has been appointed in his role and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with him and the Government. This work will ease the process of looking after serving personnel, veterans, and their families as part of the Armed Forces Covenant."

Minister for Social Security, Deputy Judy Martin, said: "I am pleased that this well needed support is now being offered to those who have served in the armed forces. It is a very honourable thing to do and I am delighted that we are able to give something back."

Islanders that need support for ex-military personnel can email clsarmedforcessupport@gov.je
