Weather advice for Jersey – cold temperatures and potential snow

08 January 2024

Jersey Met has issued a yellow alert for snow and a yellow ice warning.

A cold easterly flow will bring wintry showers to the Channel Islands today, which may include sleet or hail at times.

A band of sleet or snow is also expected to affect the Channel Islands tomorrow morning (Tuesday 9 January 2024). However, any accumulations of sleet or snow are expected to be minimal, and not more than 0.5cm in Jersey.

It is important for all residents and visitors to stay informed, by checking the latest weather forecasts and advice. With temperatures expected to fall below zero overnight, Islanders are urged to travel with caution.

Please ensure you stay warm during these cold conditions and check on the wellbeing of any vulnerable family, friends and neighbours.
