Summary

​​​This report focus on the four most common causes of premature death (under 75 years of age) and compares Jersey rates with those in the English region.

The four most common causes of premature death are:

  • ​cancer
  • heart disease and stroke
  • lung disease
  • liver disease

The data is for all Jersey residents who died prematurely between 2010 and 2012.

The Public Health England ‘Longer Lives’ report highlighted differences across the English regions and was used for all the data comparisons.​
