Summary

​​The All Items Retail Prices Index (RPI) is the main measure of inflation in Jersey. It measures the change from quarter to quarter in the price of the goods and services purchased by an average household in Jersey.

The main figures for September 2012 are:

  • during the 12 months to September 2012 the All Items RPI for Jersey increased by 2.8% to stand at 154.5 (June 2000 = 100)
  • RPI(X), the RPI excluding the costs of house purchases, increased by 2.9% during the 12 months to September 2012
  • RPI Pensioners increased by 2.6% and RPI Low Income increased by 3.0% over the 12 months to September 2012
  • RPI(Y), the RPI excluding the costs of house purchase and the effect of indirect taxes (such as GST and impôts), increased by 3.1% during the 12 months to September 2012
