Support
Counselling services
We offer a range of counselling services through our Employee Assistance Programme.
Training and development
We are firmly committed to the personal development of all our employees and to raising standards of performance.
Our aim is to become a learning organisation – that is, an organisation in which people at all levels, individually and collectively, are continually increasing their capacity to produce results that they really care about.
We have a well established Training and Development team and offer a large range of development and skills based courses which are firmly linked to the core competencies that we have agreed for employees at all levels of the organisation, from manual workers to Chief Officers. Continuing Professional Development is also high on our agenda, and we have professional advisers working to ensure that professional skills are updated in Health and Social Services, Police and Education.
Equality and diversity
We are firmly committed to equality and we recognise the value of a diverse workforce in which people from different backgrounds and with different skills and abilities can work with us to provide the best possible service to our customers and the public of Jersey.
We are keen to ensure that our workforce reflects the diverse nature of the population of Jersey, and we are also working to increase the proportion of women at more senior grades in the organisation.
We will consider applications for vacancies solely on the basis of merit, regardless of sex, age, disability, race, ethnic background, religion, social circumstances, marital or family status, sexual orientation and any other irrelevant factor. However, we are only able to consider applications from those who have the right to live and work in Jersey, unless an advertisement specifically states otherwise. This is because there are
laws which, in general, restrict employment to those who have been resident in Jersey for the previous five years.
