Population Office

In June 2005, the States approved new mechanisms to enhance the overall effectiveness, efficiency, and equity of migration controls in the Island.

The necessary new laws and policies are being developed by the Population Office, under the political direction of the Migration Advisory Group (comprising the Assistant Minister, Chief Ministers' Department, Economic Development Minister, Housing Minister, and Planning and Environment Minister as required).

As well as taking forward new migration policies, the Population Office manages the Regulation of Undertakings and Development and Housing Laws in an coordinated manner. To achieve this in relation to business, a Combined Policy Statement (59Kb PDF) has been issued

The office is situated on the Third Floor at Jubilee Wharf, 24 The Esplanade, St Helier, JE4 OUT and the opening times are 9 am - 4 pm .

For more information on the Population Office and the Laws it administers, please call either 00 44 (0)1534 448905 for queries in relation to residential qualifications, or 00 44 (0)1534 448930 in relation to Regulation of Undertakings or "j" category applications.
