Average Earnings
The Index of Average Earnings measures changes in earnings (gross wages and salaries, excluding bonuses) paid to employees. The data are collected for all States of Jersey Departments and a large representative sample of firms in the private sector, covering nearly half of Jersey’s working population. Historically, the majority of public sector employees in Jersey have been on a two-year pay cycle, which means care is needed in comparisons between the private and public sectors. Latest news: Average earnings in Jersey in June 2008 were 4.3% higher than in June 2007.
