School admissions

Primary sector
For pupils new to the Island, places in the non fee paying primary sector are allocated centrally. If a place is not available in the local primary school any potential allocation will be discussed with parents and a solution found. Secondary sector

Entry to the non fee paying secondary sector in years 7, 8 and 9 is normally to the catchment area school. If the catchment area school is unable to accommodate the new student, any potential allocation will be discussed with parents and a solution found. Entry to year 10 and 11 will be considered on an individual basis with due consideration given to both the specific subjects being studied and the ability of the student before the most appropriate school is identified and a place allocated. Entry to Hautlieu is only possible in year 10 and above. The following are the criteria for entry to Hautlieu:
  • an average cognitive ability test score of 109 or greater;
  • above average standards of performance in English, maths and at least four other subjects with science counting as two.

There is opportunity for entry to Hautlieu at 16+ for students who have good GCSE results. For further information on entry to Hautlieu, please contact the school direct on tel 736242.
