Higher Education refers to studies for qualifications such as first degrees and higher national diplomas which are normally undertaken by students aged 18 years and over. It is the next step up from studying A-levels or vocational qualifications at a school or college. 50,000 Higher Education courses are available nationwide at universities, colleges of Higher Education and specialist colleges for subjects such as art and agriculture.
