Industry days

Some schools will suspend the timetable for a year group for a day and work with a local trade group or business and allow the students to experience what it is like producing a product or providing a service. The educational value of such days can be enormous for the students but there are also a number of benefits for the companies involved. Not only does it raise the profile of the business - all students are customers or future customers! - but such education/ business links can form part of staff development and training.
