Regulation of Undertakings and Development
The Economic Development Minister is responsible for administering the Regulation of Undertakings and Development Law. This Law is to control the carrying on of undertakings and to regulate further development.
Retail and Wholesale Sector
Economic Development recognises the need to work together with Jersey's retail sector to enable existing retailers (both food and non-food) to develop their business, by tackling issues that may affect the sector. It is also keen to advise and support any business/individual considering Jersey as a potential destination to develop a future retail business.
Rural Economy
Economic Development is jointly responsible in the development of a rural economic strategy which promotes growth, efficiencies and diversification within the countryside and which protects and enhances the natural environment.

Tourism Quality Development is responsible for all matters relating to legislation applicable to the laws governing Tourism.

The Enterprise and Business Development team works with Jersey employers and employees to raise skills levels and improve business performance and productivity.
