Air Transport Permits (Repeal) (Jersey) Law 200-
In November 2003 the Economic Development Committee produced a revised air transport policy. This came about as a result of a changing external environment with considerable de-regulation in the United Kingdom as well as the States own policy towards encouraging competition.
A revised Air and Sea Transport Policy was presented to the States on 28th March 2006. This policy states, "the continuation of the present ‘open skies’ policy for air transport services will be in the best interests of the Island and of the users of these services" and that "the Air Transport Permits (Jersey) Law 1998, as amended, should be repealed."
The States approved the repeal of the Air Transport Permits (Jersey) Law in September 2007. Royal Assent for the repeal has been sanctioned. The Law was subsequently registered in the Royal Court on 22 February 2008. The repeal of the Law will now come into effect on 29 February 2008.
Therefore you will no longer require an Air Transport Permit to operate between Jersey and another place in the British Islands.
