Jersey Tourism
Jersey Tourism Jersey Tourism is a marketing organisation with a remit to promote Jersey as a tourist destination, enhance the tourism product, facilitate bookings and provide relevant information for potential and actual visitors to the Island. Jersey Tourism is part of the Economic Development Department with funding provided centrally by tax revenues from the States of Jersey. In 2007, net revenue expenditure by Jersey Tourism was £5.9 million.
The Public Relations team, working on behalf of the Economic Development Committee, are charged with promotion of Jersey Tourism’s industry and very recently added the Jersey Royal Potato to their remit. Their effort is focused largely on the management of media visiting the Island and this can, on average, total approximately 250 individual trips per annum. The most effective output is achieved through television and the team will facilitate several hours of coverage per annum on British network television and European channels.
