Welcome to the Rural Economy Home Page.

Rural Economy (formally known as Jersey Agriculture) is a division of Economic Development.  Our services include Direct Financial Support Payments, Agricultural Loans, the Glasshouse Interest Subsidy Scheme, Strategic Development, the Farm Secretarial Service and the Rural Initiative Scheme as well as dealing with general enquiries relating to the industry and the wider rural economy.

Economic Development along with the Environment Division, developed the Rural Economy Strategy 2005 which promotes growth, efficiencies and diversification within the countryside and which protects and enhances the natural environment.
