Learning to play a musical instrument at school

The Jersey Music Service provides instrumental tuition to over 1,000 pupils throughout States' schools.

The service is run by a team of specialist music teachers who offer tuition on: 

  • flute
  • oboe
  • clarinet
  • bassoon
  • alto saxophone
  • tenor saxophone
  • french horn
  • tenor horn
  • trumpet
  • cornet
  • trombone
  • baritone
  • euphonium
  • tuba
  • violin
  • viola
  • cello
  • double bass
  • percussion

 
In order to monitor the work of pupils closely, progress is regularly assessed by your child's teacher and reports are issued twice a year. The service also provides tuition towards entry for the examinations of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
