Environmental Protection
Environmental Protection is in the business of protecting and enhancing the aquatic environment of the Island for present and future generations and the flora and fauna and habitats that depend upon it.
The Protection of Agricultural Land
The Land Control and Agricultural Development Sections main role is to protect agricultural land so that the a stable land bank is retained for the use of the agricultural industry, and also to assist in the Planning process for agriculturally related development.
Protected Trees and High Hedges
Trees and hedges can be significant features in the landscape. In some instances their appearance and amenity value is high and they are worthy of protection. In other cases they can cause problems if the wrong species has been planted or they are not well managed. More information about trees and hedges can be found here.
