About the consultation

This consultation sets out plans for a regulatory framework for social housing in Jersey. This framework will include the Affordable Housing Gateway and the following social housing providers:

  • Andium Homes
  • Clos de Paradis Housing Trust
  • CTJ Housing Trust
  • F.B. Cottages Housing Trust
  • Jersey Homes Trust
  • Les Vaux Housing Trust

The proposed framework would introduce new standards, which the Affordable Housing Gateway and social housing providers would need to achieve, for the delivery of homes and housing services to tenants and prospective tenants.

What we want you to comment on

The Housing Minister would like your views about:

  • new performance standards for social housing providers for the quality of their homes and the services they deliver
  • methods to assess, monitor and report performance against these standards such as the publication of annual performance information and the creation of a “light-touch” regulator
  • rules to establish how the Housing Gateway works
  • a new route for tenants to make complaints if there is a problem with the service
  • new finance and governance standards so that social housing providers can be well-managed and use their resources effectively

Who we would like to respond

We would like to hear from:

  • Social housing tenants
  • People who have used the Affordable Housing Gateway
  • Social housing providers
  • Community and voluntary organisations with an interest in social housing
  • Members of the public who have friends or relatives who live in social housing
