Millennium Town Park

The total 2017 budget for the Millennium Town Park is £170,557. This cost covers, among other things, garden maintenance, park keeping, toilet cleaning, maintenance and operation of the water features, utilities, infrastructure maintenance and the like.

Work is undertaken by a number of contractors depending on the nature of the work. Contractor prices are based on an overall level of service and therefore it is not possible to provide a breakdown of the total cost of the Millennium Town Park as requested.

Bingham Gardens

Bingham Gardens is maintained by a gardening contractor. The contractor undertaking work in this area does so as an overall garden maintenance contract and therefore it is not possible to provide a breakdown of the total cost for this area. The overall contract price is commercially sensitive and is qualified exempt under Article 33 of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.

Exemptions applied

Article 33 - Commercial interests

(a) it constitutes a trade secret; or

(b) its disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of a person (including the scheduled public authority holding the information).

Justification for exemption

In this instance, the Authority considers that information relating to the specific contract price is commercially sensitive. Any disclosure would be likely to harm the commercial interests of the third party provider and the ability to negotiate future contracts with potential suppliers.
