Request

Since entering the States on 8th December 2008 I would like to know how many propositions Deputy Mike Higgins has tabled and actually won or lost?

I would also like to know how many times Deputy Mike Higgins has raised a question in the States that has turned out to be in relation to Police Operational Matters so could not be properly answered, in order to protect an ongoing court case or investigation?

Response

According to research we have undertaken, Deputy M. Higgins has lodged 15 propositions in his own name since he was elected in 2008. Two propositions were adopted and one proposition was partially adopted by the States Assembly. Six propositions were rejected by the States Assembly. In addition Six propositions were withdrawn before debate. The propositions are listed in the table below. Further information can be obtained by conducting a search for individual propositions at the link below:

Lodged Amendments

According to our research, in addition to the above propositions, Deputy Higgins also lodged four amendments to propositions lodged by other States members or bodies of which one was adopted, one was rejected, one was withdrawn and one was not debated as the main proposition was deferred and then fell away due to falling outside the six month time limit.
