Request

Further to the Freedom of Information request dated 8 November 2017, in which it was revealed that Deputy Sam Mezec has had three complaints upheld about his internet behaviour to date.

A

I would like to know whether any other States Member out of the remaining 48 have had any similar complaint(s) upheld for internet behaviour over the past two years by the Privileges and Procedures Committee (PCC) to date?

B

I would also like to know what training, if any, Deputy Sam Mezec has been given or offered, since these three complaints were upheld in order to help him behave responsibly and maturely, as expected of all States Members, when addressing members of the Public online?

Response

A

The Privileges and Procedures Committee have not upheld any complaints in relation to other States members use of the internet over the past two years.

B

No training has been provided to Deputy S.Y. Mézec on the use of the internet and / or social media since three complaints relating to his online behaviour were upheld by the Privileges and Procedures Committee.

Training on the use of the internet and / or social media is not provided to any States members in their role as private members.
