How much has Sara's Law been used in Jersey since its introduction?

The Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme, or "Sarah's Law", allows parents to ask police if someone with access to their son or daughter has been convicted or suspected of child abuse. Officers will look into the background of individuals and reveal details confidentially if they think it is in the child's interests.

Response

This question was answered in November 2016. The response can be viewed using the below link:

Disclosures using Sarah's Law and Clare's Law (FOI)

The number of times Sarah’s law has been used since November 2016 is two.

To complete the picture from the previous response, Clare’s Law has been used 12 times since November 2016. This is where an individual can ask the police if they hold any relevant information on a new partner that would give concerns for the safety of the individual. These disclosures are often made on a proactive basis by the police when they learn that a person of concern begins a new relationship.
