Below is a breakdown of the Microsoft Licences held within the States of Jersey. We are unable to release the annual cost of Microsoft licensing, due to this information being deemed commercially sensitive. We are therefore applying a qualified exemption, Commercial Interest Article 33, of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011.

Education, Sports and Culture Licences:
Microsoft Volume Licensing Enrolment for Education Solutions (which is based on staff headcount) gives unlimited licence instances for 2014 and covers both the Microsoft Office suite and Windows operating system upgrades.
Microsoft Server licensing under the Education, Sports and Culture, Select Plus agreement covers 107 Server 2012 R2 licences.
B.
799 iPads were purchased for schools in 2014, but we cannot breakdown how many were allocated to staff.
154 iPads are registered for gaining access to the States network. Of these, 52 have been purchased by departments. The remainder are personally owned devices under the Bring Your Own Device Policy.
C.
We have 102 iPads registered for emails, contacts and calendar which belong personally to staff.
Exemption
Article 33 - Commercial interests
Information is qualified exempt information if:
a) it constitutes a trade secret; or
(b) its disclosure would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of a person (including the scheduled public authority holding the information).
