I write with regards to the ‘ages old Jersey legal custom’ - Visite Royale - that took place on Wednesday, 1 August.
On seeing the article in the Jersey Evening Post, I can see that the Bailiff lead a delegation of Jurats, lawyers and officials out on visits, whereby they made decisions on encroachments by rogue trees on roads and pathways.
Looking at the article photographs, it looks like there were about 30 officials involved in this visit.
I’m guessing all the officials were paid for their time. There was also a convoy of Daimler taxis (four in total), which obviously needed paying for.
I would like to ask how much the cost was for this Visite Royal.

The Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 (the FOI Law) provides a right of access to information held by a scheduled public authority at the time of the request. This request was made only five days after the Visite Royale, so we do not hold records covering the specific costs of the Visite Royale on 1 August 2018.
