Could you tell me how many members of hospital staff have been suspended from practice over the past five years?

Could you explain what department of the hospital they work in and what role they have?

C

The length of the suspension and the reason for the suspension.

D

Please could you also make a note if the same member of staff has been suspended more than once?

A

The below numbers refer to staff based at the General Hospital.

Disclosure control has been applied to numbers fewer than five under Article 25 (Personal information) of the Freedom of Information (Jersey) Law 2011 (the Law).

B

We are not able to identify job roles as this may lead to the identification of the individual. Any further information in relation to this request is therefore exempt under Article 25 (Personal information) of the Law.

C and D

Length of suspension is provided within the table at 'A' above.

Any further information in relation to the reasons for suspension and whether individuals have been suspended more than once is exempt under Article 25 (Personal information) of the Law as provision of this information may identify individuals.

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.

(2) Information is absolutely exempt information if –

(a) it constitutes personal data of which the applicant is not the data subject as defined in the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018; and

(b) its supply to a member of the public would contravene any of the data protection principles, as defined in that Law.
