Noting that you have refused to publish the full report relating to the £150,000 funding of the Jersey Reds due to commercial reasons, please disclose the reasons that £150,000 grant was given and provide the quantum of anticipated benefits to the Island resulting from the grant.
Jersey Reds is the largest sporting club in the island. It employs 51 staff and high-level analysis suggests that the Club generates more than £600,000 of on-island spend per year. The £150,000 grant will provide the club with necessary financial support pending the outcome of a wider financial and commercial review of Jersey’s sports.
