Request

I would like the States of Jersey Police policies and procedures on:

  •  Public Interest Disclosures;
  •  Information Sharing Policy;
  •  Body Worn Cameras;
  •  Consent to Sharing of Information.

Response

Article 23 of the Freedom of Information Law provides an absolute exemption to providing information if it is accessible by other means.

Below are links to the States of Jersey Police web site and the UK College of Policing site where you will find some of the information requested.

We are in the process of writing our Information Sharing Agreement Policy (ISA) however, we will follow the UK College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice.

The States of Jersey Police Public interest disclosure procedure can be found in the Disclosure Data policy document.

We do not have a Consent to sharing of information Policy and therefore do not hold the information, however you will find that all sharing information is covered in the above and the States Police carefully follows the guidance of Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2005 regarding the processing of personal data.

Exemption

23 Information accessible to applicant by other means

(1) Information is absolutely exempt information if it is reasonably available to the applicant, otherwise than under this Law, whether or not free of charge.
(2) A scheduled public authority that refuses an application for information on this ground must make reasonable efforts to inform the applicant where the applicant may obtain the information.
