​​Visitor volume and value

Between 2018 and 2019, the total number of visits increased by 6% to 770,686. This was the largest number of visitors since 2002.

Total on-Island visitor expenditure in 2019 was £280 million. This is an average of £363 per visitor.

STR benchmarking

A growing number of hotels in Jersey are participating in the STR benchmarking survey which provides information on the performance and productivity of Jersey hotels.

In 2021 (for participating hotels):

  • average room occupancy was 41% up from 26% in 2020 but down overall from pre-pandemic levels at 66% in 2019
  • average daily room rate was £115, an increase of 20% on 2020, but only up 8% from pre-pandemic levels in 2019
  • revenue per available room was £54, double the previous year, but down 28% on pre-pandemic levels in 2019
