Statistics Users Group 

The Statistics Users Group is an independent body established in 1999 which oversees the quality, relevance and integrity of the statistics produced by the States of Jersey.

The role of the Statistics Users Group (SUG) is to oversee the quality, relevance and integrity of the statistics compiled by or on behalf of States' departments. This involves reviewing and commenting on any official statistics prepared or published by the States of Jersey. The functions of the SUG are laid out in the terms of reference.

The Statistics Users Group is made up of:

  • a chairman (who must be neither a member of the States nor an official of a department of the States)
  • a secretary who is the head of the States of Jersey Statistics Unit
  • up to 10 members from the Island's business community, labour force and general public

The Statistics Unit aim to operate in an open and transparent manner with minutes of meetings and published papers available to view online. We also welcome comment on the official statistics produced in Jersey and can be contacted directly via email.
