Who we are and what we do 

The Law Officers' Department provides legal advice to the Crown and the States, including States Ministries and other departments. We are also responsible for the provision of a high quality criminal prosecution service.

Other services include:

  • protecting the interests of the Crown and States in civil proceedings
  • performing the functions and duties of the Attorney General
  • assisting overseas law enforcement agencies
  • carrying out conveyancing work for the Crown and States of Jersey
