Out-of-hours GP service 

The GP out-of-hours service provides clinic appointments, home visits and telephone advice to patients of participating practices. Please call your GP to be advised of how to contact the GP Co-op.

At this time we are unable to extend the service to patients who are not registered at a participating practice, therefore please contact your surgery for further information.

The GP Co-op provides an out-of-hours service during the following opening times. Please note: this service is run on an appointment only basis.

How do I access the out-of-hours services?

You can only access the out-of-hours services on an appointment basis, therefore you should telephone your GP surgery first. If your GP is part of the GP Co-op, they will advise you of the GP Co-op contact details.
 
A  receptionist at the GP Co-op will answer your call and will arrange telephone advice, a surgery appointment time or a home visit.

Appointments are only accepted from patients of GPs who are part of the GP Co-op. Bookings will not be accepted from patients of non-participating GPs. Patients from non-participating surgeries will need to seek advice from their surgery regarding their out of hours service.

Calls made after 11pm by patients are answered by the Ambulance Service who will then refer you to the overnight on-call GP.

Where is the out-of-hours surgery?

The GP co-op out-of-hours service is located in the Gwyneth Huelin wing of the Hospital in the Outpatients department. It can be accessed from Newgate street.

Parking is available in Patriotic Street car park.

Does the service operate all year round?

Yes. The GP Co-op out-of-hours service is available on all days including public and bank holidays.
