How do I get a hearing aid?
If you would like to be assessed for a hearing aid and do not already have one, then you should visit your GP. They can refer you to the Audiology Department, who is responsible for hearing aids and hearing tests.
How much will a hearing aid cost?
Digital behind-the-ear hearing aids are free.
Digital all-in-the-ear hearing aids can be purchased at an additional cost.
Where can I get a hearing test done?
If you would like a hearing test, a drop in service is available at the Hearing Resource Centre at Overdale Hospital.
This service takes place on a Wednesday from 9am to 12pm. You don't need an appointment.
What do I do if I have problems with my hearing aid?
If you already have a hospital hearing aid and are experiencing problems, then you can contact the Audiology Department for an appointment, or you can come to one of our hearing aid repair clinics.
The repair clinics take place on:
- Monday 9am - 12pm (Audiology Department, General Hospital)
- Wednesday 9am - 12pm (Hearing Resource Centre, Overdale Hospital)

The Audiology Department is located in the Outpatients Department of the General Hospital in St Helier.
