Key Service Aims

The Assisted Reproduction Unit exists to provide high quality health care to couples with sub-fertility, together with a specialist satellite service for advanced reproductive medicine.

Services we provide

  • Provision of comprehensive information & advice, both written and verbal, on all aspects of infertility, investigations and treatments, for patients, G.P.’s and other health care workers. General enquiries welcome.
  • Complete confidentiality
  • Full screening and investigations of both male & female partners which include:
    1. Endometrial & pelvic organ assessment
    2. Hormonal assessments (male & female)
    3. Full semen analysis
    4. Cytogenetic and antibody screening
    5. Testicular function tests
    6. Fallopian tube patency tests
    7. Tubal surgery
    8. Menstrual Cycle tracking to check for ovulation
  • Up to date care and treatments:
    1. Induction of ovulation using various prescribed medications
    2. Intra-uterine Insemination with Husband or Donor’s sperm
    3. Early pregnancy assessment following successful treatment
    4. Support for women with Pre-mature menopause, seeking fertility
  • Specialist Satellite treatments for:
    1. IVF (Invitro-fertilisation);
    2. ICSI (Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection for male factor infertility)
    3. Access to Donor Sperm; Egg and Embryo programmes
    4. Links with UK and international specialist units for advanced reproductive treatments (Satellite IVF & ICSI in association with Bourn Hall Clinic, Cambridge)

  • Pregnancy rate per Embryo transfer = 33% (44%)
  • Live birth rate = 33% (29.3%)
  • Number of IVF/ICSI/ Frozen Embryo cycles = 84 (100)
  • Number of non IVF monitored cycles = 165
