Ambulatory Services

Ambulatory Services are those which cater for people who require advice, care or treatment which can be provided, without the need to stay overnight in hospital. Most often, the person will have a planned visit to hospital but some services are able to also arrange a home visit by a health worker.

The range of services is wide. The different departments which act under the Ambulatory Services title ensure that services meet national standards for best practice. Each department provides an environment and resources suitable for the patient experience, and staff that are knowledgeable and experienced in the speciality.

This page lists the departments which are classified as ambulatory services, and also gives you an overview of the services which they provide to meet people’s needs.
