Cardiology Services are based at the General Hospital. Lead Officers:
Dr Andrew RJ Mitchell Consultant Cardiologist Andrew Norman Physiologist, Manager Clinical Investigation Department Sister Jackie Tardivel Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse Overview According to the American Heart Association and British Cardiac Society, heart diseases are the number one cause of death for both men and women in the Western World. Jersey General Hospital (JGH) offers cardiology services ranging from diagnosis to procedures and follow-up care. Noninvasive evaluations of heart diseases including transthoracic and transoesophageal Echocardiograms and stress testing are available. In addition, JGH is equipped with designated telemetry beds in the inpatient care area for the monitoring of cardiac patients. Should you or a loved one need a Pacemaker implantation, the cardiologist and his team at the JGH have been practising Single and Dual Chamber Pacemaker Implantations for many years.

- Palpitations and Atrial fibrillation
- Low and fast heart rates: supraventricular and ventricular bradycardia and tachycardia
- Cardiac murmurs
- Valvular heart diseases
- Inflammatory diseases of the heart with endocarditis
- Diseases of the pericardium
- Diseases of the aorta, including aortic aneurysm
- Care for pregnant women with heart disease and
- Management of patients on anticoagulants.
