Information for New Fathers
Your first pregnancy is a very important event. Some men feel left out. Your partner's attention will be on what's happening inside of her, and she may want you to pay a lot more attention to her needs than usual.
There is usually no medical reason to aviod sex, but keep in mind she may be in pain and may not feel comfortable about having sex. If this is the case try and find other ways of getting close and always talk about it.

Your partner will be offered blood tests early in pregnancy. You may also be asked to have a blood test to check whether your baby is at risk of an inherited or generic condition.
Give your partner as much support as she needs both mentally and physically. Attending appointments with her can help put you both at ease and will also involve you more in the pregnancy.
Some couples find it helpful to make a birth plan for when the baby is due. This way you know what she wants and how you can help her achieve it.
Some employers provide paternity leave for their employees.
