Portelet Ward

Portelet Ward is a twenty-eight bedded surgical ward managed by Sister Anne Moorhouse. The ward caters for patients undergoing either elective or emergency operations. Surgery can be as extensive as major bowel surgery or as minor as a removal of a cyst! Whilst the patients on Portelet Ward are predominantly under the care of the general surgeons (Mr Ingram; Mr Allardice or Mr El Gazzar) some orthopaedic patients can be allocated to Portelet.

The visiting time for Portelet Ward is 15.30 till 19.30. Whilst we can be flexible when necessary we would politely remind any persons visiting a loved one or friend, we do need to perform certain activities with people in order to provide the care they need whilst with us, hence the need for a set time to visit.
