WHAT WE DO:

The Department is responsible for the purchase and supply of a range of medical and surgical products, both stock and non stock, health related stationery, cleaning materials and provisions.

The department also acts as a centre of expertise and knowledge in procurement and supply matters including managing multiple suppliers and monitoring their performance, providing a value for money service.

WHAT SERVICES ARE PROVIDED?

The supplies department supplies all Health and Social Services Departments with stock items requisitioned from an electronic catalogue and materials management, ‘'Top Up’’, to wards and departments at the General Hospital.

Stock items are delivered on a daily basis to the General Hospital and twice weekly to St Saviours and Overdale, the delivery service also includes home delivery for renal patients.

Clinical Purchasing provides a non stock procurement service, including sourcing, and advice, providing cost benefits and ensuring best value for money.
