Chief Officer

The Chief Officer of Health and Social Services is Mike Pollard. He was appointed in May 2004. His office is located on the 4^th Floor of Peter Crill House, Jersey General Hospital, Gloucester Street, St Helier.

The Chief Officer is responsible for the provision of the full range of health and social services for the people of Jersey. His responsibilities include;

• Improving clinical and managerial standards
• Demonstrating value for money
• Ensuring that the care of each individual patient and client is of the highest standard
• Creating the strategic direction in order that Health and Social Services can thrive and prosper in future years
• Managing the interface between the health and social care professionals and States Members
• Establishing a positive working relationship between Health and Social Services and local stakeholders and members of the public
• Leading the Health and Social Services Senior Management Team and being the principal source of advice to the Minister of Health and Social Services.

The Chief Officer is a member of the States of Jersey’s Corporate Management Board which is led by the Chief Executive of the States of Jersey.
