UK import VAT accounting scheme
UK Customs, Jersey Customs and Jersey Post have agreed a Scheme which consists of arrangements for:
(a) accounting for UK Import VAT on commercial consignments (excluding alcohol, tobacco and tobacco products) with a value exceeding £18 but not exceeding £2000, and all perfumes and toilet waters not exceeding £2000, that would otherwise be chargeable on the goods on importation into the UK; and,
(b) the import of commercial consignments (excluding goods liable to excise duty) with an intrinsic value not exceeding £18 into the UK;
using agreed postal routes other than those through an Office of Exchange (a Post Office which is manned by UK Customs).

Applications to join the Scheme are made in writing and will require the following:
i) agreement to abide by the Scheme’s Terms and Conditions
ii) submission of corporate due diligence documents
iii) premises inspection by the JPCCO
