Skilled Work Permits - Chefs
It is currently recognised there is a national shortage of chefs. Although the posts will usually be advertised they may be filled without the employer having done so. Applications are considered for the following positions only:

Executive Chef,

Head Chef,

Sous Chef,

Pastry Chef
-
Chef de Partie.
Application Process
Complete skilled work permit application form and enclose appropriate fee and the following supporting documents:

Copy of personal details page of the passport and, if applicable, the page showing the current UK Immigration endorsement. Also, copies of the passports of any dependants who qualify.

Full job description (copies of menus, number of covers and details of staff employed in the kitchen, listing their jobs and responsibilities, may also be requested from the establishment).

Evidence of three years employment carrying out the work of a chef, which may include time at a catering college, where they have obtained formal qualifications and experience in culinary related subjects. This should be through curriculum vitae, *references and qualifications.
*References on business headed note paper which must show the dates the employment started and ended along with the job title and a brief description of the duties and responsibilities held.

Accommodation is to be provided by the employer (for example: hotel, self-catering apartment or lodging house). There are occasions when employees will find their own which is acceptable.

A draft contract of employment or details of the terms and conditions.
