Correction of duty rates
Paragraph 8 of part 2 of Schedule 1 of the Customs and Excise (Jersey) Law 1999 was amended in the 2006 Budget to show, inter alia, new rates of duty for vehicles registered outside Jersey 3 or more years ago. The rates for vehicles over 1000cc in this category were incorrectly calculated. The correct rates are shown in the table below.

The Law is in the process of being amended to show the correct rates but from the date of this Notice administrative relief procedures will be used to apply the correct rates. Appropriate refunds will be processed automatically for those who have over-paid VRD at the wrong rate.
