Properties which have already been sold at Les Cloches

Property Plan Sales

The States Housing Department Property Plan is now well underway, having successfully sold homes to a number of States tenants on various estates. Newly built and refurbished homes at Les Cloches, Phase II Le Squez have now all been sold, with the next phase due for completion in 2009.

What is the Property Plan?
This scheme allows existing States tenants to purchase their homes, or other States rental property which the Department has approval to sell. Homes are sold on a shared equity scheme to first time buyers. Effectively, tenants receive a 25% discount off the first time buyer price.

Why do we need the Property Plan?
Property Plan sales will be used to fund the refurbishment programme currently being undertaken by the Housing Department. Our aim is to bring all existing States rental properties up to the 'Good Homes Standard', and eventually expand our stock to meet the demand for social housing on the island. By purchasing a States rental property your money will be re-invested into improving homes for others, making Jersey a nicer place to live.

Can I buy a property on this scheme?
This scheme is only available to existing States tenants, who have resided in States rental property for at least 6 months. Only first time buyers will qualify for this scheme. States tenants can check their first time buyer status, by  contacting the Population Office on 448905.

If you are not a States tenant, you may be eligable for the Jersey Homebuy Scheme.

What do I need to do?
We would recommend you seek Mortgage advice from either a bank or Mortgage broker, once you know that you are in a postion to purchase a property, you can either contact the Property Plan Sale Team for more information or complete this application form and return it to the Housing Department; PO Box 587, Jubilee Wharf, 24 The Esplanade, St Helier JE1 1AE.
