Supported Housing
For many years the Housing Department has been able to offer accommodation to some individuals who do not ordinarily meet the criteria, but who for one reason or another require assistance under special circumstances. In 2004 this scheme was formalised and a Supported Housing Group created. This group is made up of a number of senior professionals from across the services/agencies. They meet once a month to discuss all applications and ensure that, where applications are accepted, a full support package/care plan is provided by the referring agency. Only those client’s considered most vulnerable are offered States rental accommodation on a one year temporary tenancy. The Supported Housing Group is led by the Assisted Living Team.
The Assisted Living is also involved in Crisis Intervention, providing specialised support to individuals or families during a time of crisis.
