Preparing a health and safety policy for small firms

​The aim of this guidance is to assist employers in the preparation of a written health and safety policy statement for their business; it is a legal requirement for all businesses which have five or more employees (including directors).

The document provides a template for the policy which can be tailored to suit any business and contains guidance on the type of information which should be included within the policy to ensure that the health and safety risks are properly controlled.
