Active fitness classes
Education, Sport and Culture (ESC) offers more than 80 fitness classes each week in various sports centres. These classes are free if you have Active membership, or a per-class fee applies if you don't. You can find the cost of each class on the Active class timetable below.
A number of activities are available especially for people aged over 50, from Tai Chi to badminton.

Health walks
Organised health walks - designed to get you walking further, more briskly and more often - take place several times every week at various locations around Jersey.

Sports-related qualifications and courses
Professional qualifications
Our adult courses focus on coaching qualifications and development. Tutored professional qualifications include:
- Royal Yachting Association: dinghy sailing instructor, powerboat instructor and powerboat (level 2)
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
- rescue test for swimming teachers and coaches
- pool plant operators course
First aid and child protection courses
First aid and child protection courses for adults involved with sports clubs and associations are offered by the sports development team. There will be a coaching disabled performers course in october 2010.
