Leaving the Island

Before leaving the Island there are some things that you should consider doing that will make your life a little easier.

• If you intend to reside outside the Island for any period please contact the Social Security Department for advice.

 

• If you are receiving benefit from the Social Security Department you must inform them of any absence from the Island.

• If you are leaving the Island permanently, please write to the Social Security Department to confirm the date of your departure, full names of those people who are leaving and their date of birth. We also ask that you send back to us your Registration and Health Benefits cards.

• If you intend to take a vehicle with you, you will need to complete a Vehicle Registration Document, VRD1. These notes may help you.
