Building consent for Plémont removed

​Permission to build 28 homes on the former Plémont holiday camp site has been formally removed from the planning consent.

The Minister for Planning and Environment, Deputy Rob Duhamel, removed the consent in response to a request by the new owners of the site, the National Trust for Jersey.

Now the permission is only for the demolition of the existing buildings and removal of hard standings. The National Trust is in discussion with the Department of the Environment over the development of a land restoration scheme to strengthen the biodiversity and landscape character of this sensitive area.

Resolution of lengthy planning debate 

In 2012, following a public inquiry and careful consideration, permission was given to Plémont Estates Limited for the development of 28 homes on the former holiday camp site, subject to environmental and landscaping obligations and conditions. This decision, to remove the planning consent, draws to a close the lengthy planning debate over the future of the holiday camp site.
