Phillips Street closed for six weeks

05 February 2016

From Monday 8 February, contractors on behalf of the Department for Infrastructure (DfI), will be laying a new drainage system down the centre of Phillips Street which means that the road has to be closed for the six week duration of the works.

DfI has been installing new surface water drains over the last few months in the Ann Court area. These improvements to the network will reduce the likelihood of flooding in town and enable connections in the future.

Pedestrian access

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure and diversions for vehicles will be signed.  New temporary disabled parking spaces will be made available in Museum Street which will be open for two-way traffic.

Ann Court car park will be open as usual, as will local businesses: the Arts Centre and Café Jac; Chic Salon; and Premier Carpets and Furnishing Centre.
