This specialist Department carries out authoritative and impartial scientific analysis to support the work of other States departments, local businesses and individuals. Its main roles include the forensic analysis of items suspected to be involved in crimes; the environmental analysis of pollution in air, water and land and consumer protection analysis of foods and other items.
