We've launched a new look, responsive gov.je website.
The responsive website will resize and respond to the device you're using (desktop, smartphone, tablet), and will give you an easier reading and navigation experience. There'll be no more pinching to resize a page.
Improvements we've made
Some of the changes we have made based on customer feedback, testing and best practice are:
- easier to use on smartphones and tablets, eg 'finger friendly'
- larger and more modern font to make it easier to read
- more prominent search box so you can search more easily
- most popular items so you can get to our highest hit sections more quickly
- prominent call to actions: pay it, tell us, report it
- clearer contact information
- less cluttered
- wider pages so you can see more of the page content
- no left hand navigation (most people don't use it)
- more obvious breadcrumb
- alphabetised landing pages as people find alphabetical lists easier to scan
- 'On this page' links to help with in-page navigation
- six day forecast for weather with an improved layout and the ability to change units of measure
- improved layout for jobs, search, consultations and reports
- fewer images as customers suffer 'banner blindness' when they see images and they ignore text
- smiley face feedback
- better accessibility for people with disabilities, eg those that use a screen reader
- ability to easily share content on social media
